Fright Fest returns for Halloween scares at Six Flags Great Adventure

The days are getting shorter. Soon, there will be a chill in the air. That can mean only one thing for folks in Ocean County and visitors from beyond: the frights are returning to Six Flags Great Adventure.

Fright Fest, the annual celebration of scares, takes over the Jackson thrill park Sept. 16 through Oct. 31, the park announced on Tuesday.

Presented by Snickers, Fright Fest will see the return of classic evening activities such as a ghoul parade through the park, stage shows, scare zones and six haunted houses.

During the day in that same window of time, the park will present the Kid's Boo Fest, with family-friendly Halloween activities and entertainment, trick-or-treat trails and other mild experiences.

If screaming in delight from all of these frights leaves you feeling parched, this year the park is also hosting Oktoberfest from Sept. 17 to Oct. 30. It's a family-friendly celebration of German heritage with food and an international array of seasonal lagers and other craft beers.
