Frisch's, 3CDC bring mobile roller rink to Downtown Cincinnati. Here's the first stop.
Opportunities to roller skate in downtown Cincinnati just expanded, thanks to a new mobile roller rink coming to the area.
Frisch's and the Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. have entered into a three-year partnership that will bring a mobile roller rink downtown with the ability to pop up in a variety of locations.
The rink will open for the first time Memorial Day weekend at Court Street Plaza. Details for the first weekend, including times, entertainment and more will be shared in coming days on the Court Street Plaza Facebook page.
According to an event on Court Street Plaza's Facebook page, here are the hours for the rink:
May 27: 4-8 p.m.
May 28: Noon-8 p.m.
May 29: Noon-8 p.m.
May 30: Noon-6 p.m.
Additional locations for the mobile roller rink will be announced in the coming weeks.
Once open, the roller rink will have nearly 10,000 square feet of floor space and 150 pairs of outdoor roller skates available to rent. Admission is $2, and outdoor roller skates will be can be rented for $5. Patrons may also bring their own skates.
The rink's opening and the collaboration between 3CDC and Frisch's is just in time for the restaurant's 75th anniversary and is meant to celebrate an activity that was just as popular when Frisch's began in 1947 as it is today.
“Frisch’s has brought cheerful experiences to guests for 75 years and we will continue to do just that as we celebrate our 75th birthday," Jordin Nabi, Frisch’s VP of Marketing said in a release. "We are excited to partner with 3CDC to bring back the magic of roller skating and say thank you to our loyal guests.”
