Front Range drivers urged to prepare for slick roads

Jan. 2—The Colorado Department of Transportation is advising drivers to watch for slick road conditions along the Front Range and in the Denver metro area as snow continues in the mountains through Monday night.

In a news release Monday morning, CDOT warned that snow will spread east along the foothills, affecting the northern Interstate 25 corridor and the northeastern plains.

Drivers are encouraged to prepare for freezing drizzle and icy conditions on curves, off-ramps, flyovers and bridges. Safety closures may be implemented along mountain highways and passes over the next few days depending on the severity of the weather.
