Disney fans will FINALLY get their hands on Frozen 2 on Friday [22 November 2019], after months of anticipation. The sequel promises to answer all the burning questions viewers were left with following the first movie: Why does Elsa have special powers? Where were her parents going when the ship went down? Is Kristoff actually Santa Claus?

Wait, what?

According to a popular fan theory, Anna's boyfriend Kristoff could actually be St Nick, thanks to their many similarities. Whether that's their love of reindeers, affiliation with small mythical creatures (the trolls are a bit like elves, aren't they?) or the trusty sleighs, many have pointed out how alike the two men are.

But is there actually any truth to the theory? Cosmopolitan UK caught up with Jonathan Groff, who voices Kristoff, and Josh Gad, who voices Olaf, to find out.

"Woah," Jonathan commented." That is such a good idea. That's Frozen 3."

Josh expanded, "That would be incredible, if Frozen was a Santa origin story [based] around the fourth main lead of the story. If that's what's really at work here..! Is this really just Santa's origins story told through Kristoff's character? I'm going to ask the directors about this now. I'm obsessed with this. It's definitely Kristoff is Santa."

The Frozen stars went on to discuss the Tarzan / Frozen crossover fan theory, which claims Tarzan, Elsa and Anna are actually siblings, and have the same parents.

"The Tarzan fan theory I did know about," Josh continued. "That's a theory that movies are connected through the parents. The ships that [Elsa and Anna's] parents go off in in Frozen becomes the ship that eventually goes to the island in Tarzan. I don't really see the resemblance. We know that probably didn't happen."

In conclusion, Tarzan probably isn't related to Elsa and Anna - but Kristoff could be Santa Claus.

Frozen 2 is in UK cinemas on Friday 22nd November 2019.
