New Year’s dessert menu from Aimee’s Bakin’

Get a head start on the fresh new year by having something fresh for dessert. Aimee’s Bakin’, 6 Harold Ave., Somerset, has a New Year’s dessert menu that is full of crowd-pleasing options. The fresh fruit tart was brought back and added to the New Year’s menu after customer demand. The menu also includes an assorted cookie tin, chocolate cream pie, six-pack variety macarons, cookie butter cake slices, and apple crumb cheesecake slices. DJ and dancing on New Year’s Eve at Shorty’s Pub

Shorty’s Pub, 87 Aetna St., Fall River, is saying hello to 2024 with a party on New Year’s Eve. DJ Armand Berube will be there, and there will be dancing. The event starts at 8 p.m., and entry is free. The full kitchen will be available until 10 p.m.

Karaoke on New Year’s Eve at Oriental Pearl Restaurant

Ring in the new year with a song. The Oriental Pearl Restaurant, 576 State Rd., Westport, is hosting a karaoke party on New Year’s Eve. Presented by Rick & Joan’s Karaoke, the karaoke party will be held in the function room, from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Admission is free, and food will be available to order until closing. There will also be a live band, the Lacey Cheryl 5, in the main room. The music begins at 9 p.m., and there is a $10 cover charge.

New Year’s Eve Eve at Buzzards Bay Brewing

Get started on the new year festivities a little early at Buzzards Bay Brewing, 98 Horseneck Rd., Westport. On Saturday, Dec. 30, they’ll be celebrating New Year’s Eve Eve from 3 to 8 p.m. There will be live music from the four-piece Neal McCarthy Band, as well as barbecue and more from the BBQ y Mas food truck. Live music will be in the Kettle from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., and there will be fire pits outside to help guests stay nice and toasty.

The Moose Cafe closed for the season

It’s only goodbye for now. The Moose Cafe, 1160 Stafford Rd., Tiverton, is closed for the season. They announced in a Facebook post that they “look forward to seeing everyone” when they re-open in March for their 20th season.

Yoga with cats at Bajah’s Cat Cafe

Yoga and kitties? Yes! There will be a yoga with cats event at Bajah’s Cat Cafe, 137 Main Rd., Tiverton, on Thursday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. During this 45-minute yoga session, you will be surrounded by the company of feline friends. Tickets are limited, and can be purchased at http://tinyurl.com/msnak4rs.
