Fry yay! 7 places to load up on great fries for National French Fry Day around OKC
Whether crinkle-cut, waffle, shoestring, thick-cut or steak, one thing is certain — Americans love fries.
In fact, it’s estimated that the United States produces about 40 billion pounds of potatoes each year with over $100 billion impact on the economy, according to the National Potato Council. Nearly a third of those potatoes end up frozen as fries.
So whether you eat your fries plain, dipped or loaded, there's no reason you shouldn't enjoy National French Fry Day. Here are seven great ways to fry in Oklahoma City and other parts of the state.

1. Duck fat fries at Fassler Hall
What's better than a French fry? A French fry cooked in duck fat. That's exactly what you'll get at Fassler Hall, 421 NW 10, and you choose from a selection of house made condiments like curry ketchup, basil aioli, gouda cheese sauce and more for dipping.
Kitchen hours: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday
2. Hand-cut fries at Mob Grill
Mob Grill, 11 NE 6, inside The Parlor Food Hall, offers up hand-cut fries seasoned with their "Bada-Bing Spice." They'll serve them to you gangster style, with MOB’s cheese sauce or even let you have them fully loaded with cheese sauce, bacon, pulled pork and grilled marinated jalapenos.
Kitchen hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday
3. Waffle fries at Waffle Champion
The "plain" waffle fries at Waffle Champion, 1212 N Walker Ave., are seasoned with garlic salt and parsley. Those wanting to take things up a notch can opt for the cheese fries or bacon cheese fries to add extra delicious layers.
Kitchen hours: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Sunday
4. Sweet potato fries at McNellie's
James E. McNellie's Public House, 1100 Classen Drive, offers up delicious traditional fries, but the fries most people flock to the pub for are its sweet potato option. Available as a side option for any of the restaurant's burgers or sandwiches, they're a great choice for those who want to take a step outside the plain fry box.
Kitchen hours: 11 a.m. to Midnight Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday
5. Fresh-cut fries at Tucker's
Classic, yes, a standard, sure, but there's nothing regular about the fresh-cut fries at Tucker's Onion Burgers, 324 NW 23, and four additional metro-area locations. The perfect companion for the restaurant's burgers and shakes or lemonades — sounds like summer memories waiting to be made.
Kitchen hours: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday

6. Tequila Sunfryz at Guyutes
Guyutes, 730 NW 23, takes waffles fries to another level by making a shareable appetizer or meal out of them and topping them with tequila queso, pulled pork, a sunny side egg, jalapenos, tomato, red onion and cilantro crema. Their plain waffle fryz are always available as a standard side, as well.
Kitchen hours: 11 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. daily
7. Cheese fries at Eskimo Joe's
No fry day menu would be complete in Oklahoma without mention of Eskimo Joe's, 501 W Elm Ave. in Stillwater. If you haven't ever had Eskimo Joe's cheese fries, it's time to plan a trip to "Stillwater's Jumpin' Little Juke Joint." My personal recommendation is any iteration of the cheese fries with the sweet peppered bacon included.
Kitchen hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday
