- Gracie Gold led the women's short programme at the World Figure Skating Championships in Boston on Thursday. The top six skaters were separated by a little more than four points with Gold taking the lead after her tango-themed performance set to El Chocla scored a personal best 76.43. "It's validating (to be leading)," Gold said. "To be honest, I don't know if it's really quite sunk in yet." Russia's Anna Pogorilaya was second ahead of her compatriot Evgenia Medvedeva. Gold’s teammate Ashley Wagner is fourth followed by Russian Elena Radionova and Japan's Satoko Miyahara. All six women nailed their triple-triple jump combos, a second triple jump and a double Axel, and delivered impressive performances overall, giving the judges the difficult task of deciding their placements.
