Fuel truck overturns, spill closes roads in east Las Vegas valley

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Roads are closed in the east Las Vegas valley after a fuel truck overturned and spilled fuel onto the roadway Wednesday morning.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, at around 10 a.m., there was a report of a “spillage of fuel” on the road in the area of East Charleston Boulevard and South Sloan Lane.

A photo sent to 8 News Now from a viewer showed what appeared to be a fuel truck overturned on its side, with spillage covering the roadways. At the time of publication, it was not clear what led to the accident.

Police said both streets will be shut down in all directions during the clean-up process. Drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.
