Fulda resident charged with domestic assault, threats of violence

Jun. 30—SLAYTON — Antonio Martin Perez, 19, of Fulda, is charged in Murray County Fifth District Court with felony-level domestic assault and threats of violence with intent to terrorize, as well as gross misdemeanor fifth-degree assault and misdemeanor disorderly conduct for brawling or fighting.

The charges stem from an approximately 2 a.m. June 18 incident in rural Fulda, according to the statement of probable cause filed by law enforcement. A parent reported that a juvenile was assaulted while staying with a friend in a camper, resulting in a black eye.

The victim then reported that Perez had entered the camper and punched the victim's friend in the head. The victim tried to stop the altercation and was reportedly punched in the left eye.

The officer then spoke with the second victim, who reported that Perez and his girlfriend, along with an unidentified male, entered the camper. After striking both victims, Perez reportedly said that the next time, it would be eight people, brass knuckles, a knife to stab the victim and a gun.

Law enforcement went to Perez's home in Fulda, and Perez reported that he went to the camper to talk, not intending to fight, but then punched both of the victims.

Perez was arrested and transported to the Lyon County Jail. A review of Perez's criminal history revealed he was convicted of gross misdemeanor domestic assault in Murray County in July 2022, and that he was adjudicated delinquent for committing fifth-degree assault in Murray County in March 2018.

If convicted, Perez faces a maximum five years imprisonment and/or a $10,000 fine for both the domestic assault and threats of violence charges. On the fifth-degree assault charge, he faces a maximum 364 days in jail and a $3,000 fine, and for disorderly conduct, the maximum sentence is 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
