Here is the full schedule for the San Angelo Rodeo, parade kicking off this weekend

Get your boots and cowboy hats out of the closet; the San Angelo Rodeo is kicking off this weekend with PRCA Rodeo performances and the annual parade.

"The San Angelo Rodeo Parade is held the first Saturday of the rodeo, as a way to officially kick off the event," according to the rodeo association website. "Regardless of weather, the parade will go on, with the exception of lightning. The Parade Committee works tirelessly to line-up parade entries. This parade is one of the largest held annually in San Angelo and is always a favorite of spectators."

The parade is held in downtown San Angelo, and features riding clubs, antique tractors, wagons, marching bands and floats. The parade will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1.

The parade route will begin at Irving and Concho Street, proceed east to Oakes, turn left on Oakes to Twohig, turn left on Twohig, proceed to Chadbourne, turn right on Chadbourne and proceed to College Street, turn left of College Street, continue to Irving, turn left on Irving to Beauregard, turn right on Beauregard proceed to Randolph, turn left on Randolph, proceed to River Drive and dismiss.

The parade is televised on both KLST-TV and KSAN-TV, according to the website.

The PRCA performances are from March 31 through April 14. Here is the schedule and ticket prices; some tickets are still available for purchase.

PRCA Finals - Friday, April 14 at 7:30 PM ($25.50)"The Finals bring you the best contestants from this years rodeo," the website states. "The top 12 in each event come back to town to compete for the championship. It is one of the most coveted titles in Pro Rodeo."Cinch Chute-Out - Saturday, April 15 at 7:30 PM ($30.50)"The contestants in each event are made up of the top five from the 2022 year-end standings, and the top five from the current 2023 world standings," according to the website. "The first go round, each contestant goes head to head and the four with the fastest times, or best scores, advance to the second round. From those four, the one with the best ride or run in the second go round takes home $7,500 in each event. The total purse is $100,000 for the single performance. You watch the best of the best compete for big money and the title of Cinch Chute Out Champion, all in one night."
