A fully costumed live opera is coming to Myrtle Beach area. Here’s where you can see it

A live, fully costumed opera is coming to the Grand Strand this month.

“Muzika! 2023” is being described as “high art in the low country,” according to a press release. It is the 22nd annual Varna International Music Academy and will include costumed opera, chamber ensembles, professional orchestras and Broadway revues.

There will also be soloists from the Metropolitan Opera, the press release said.

Varna International, based in Columbia, puts on performances and festivals around the world. The concert series will take place June 27 through July 15 at different locations in the area.

The July 8 Broadway Revue at the Beach Church in Myrtle Beach will be a free performance, according to the release. However, tickets are required at the Varna website.
