Honestly, who isn’t obsessed with Bridgerton (and the spin-off Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story) at this point? The intrigue. The romance. The impossibly sexy cast. And, of course, the costumes: Whether you’re heading to a cotillion or a costume party, we have Bridgerton costumes for both ladies and gentlemen.
A word of “warning”: Like the actual Bridgerton, we’re going for a Regency-era vibe over historical accuracy. So if you’re the type who spends hours researching historical fashion plates before hand-stitching your costumes, this is not the list for you.
But don’t worry, gentle reader: We would never send you out on the ton ill-prepared or, even worse, wearing anything unfashionable. We’re going to give you some pieces for main ideas, plus a couple of styling tips (because, really, so many of these costumes come down to styling) for a Bridgerton costume you’ll love.
The Daphne Costume
Inspired by Daphne’s iconic blue dress from season 1, this gown will have everyone around you swooning. Available in sizes XS–3XL, this dress also comes in three other pastel colors, in case blue isn’t for you. Now all you need is some sparkly jewelry to finish off the look.

The Duke Vest
This handsome, slim-fit brocade vest is the perfect Bridgerton costume piece to perfect the look of Simon Basset, aka The Duke. Pair with a high-collared shirt and smart pants, et voilà! The entire ton will be swooning. (And if you want to wear it for costumed-party events simply to impress the ladies, well, that’s your business.)
The Queen Charlotte Costume
When it comes to outrageous fashion, no Bridgerton costume will ever match the extra-ness of Queen Charlotte! This gown, paired with a huge wig, obviously, is the perfect choice for portraying Her Majesty.
We love all the busy details and bows. Please note that to get the poofy shape, you will need to pick up a crinoline!
The Penelope Costume
Penelope may be dressed in unnecessarily fussy fashion by her over-the-top mama, but there’s no doubt that yellow is indeed her power color! Pair this yellow frock with vibrant pink details — some appliqué flowers, an ostrich feather in the hair, gloves — and you’re ready to pen the latest issue of Lady Whistledown’s Society Papers.
The Anthony Jacket
The de facto patriarch of the Bridgerton family, Anthony is a serious man who knows that the fate of his family’s legacy rests on his broad, hot shoulders. This tailcoat jacket, paired with a high-collared white shirt — perhaps a handsome cravat if you’re feeling ambitious — captures his spirit!
The Ton Costume for Her
If you’re going for more of a general Bridgerton costume look rather than hoping to portray a particular character, this Regency-inspired dress that comes in four colors is the perfect place to start.
Since the sash and gloves are included, all you have to do is pair it with pearl jewelry, a bonnet, and perhaps a shawl for a classic period look.
The Lady Danbury Costume
Witty and sharp-tongued, we adore Lady Danbury. Nothing gets by this shrewd woman and we think this red, gothic gown is the perfect Bridgerton costume to emulate her.
Pair with exquisite diamond jewelry, maybe an ornate ruff, and, of course, a fabulous cane.
The Ton Costume for Him
This black velvet frock coat, complete with elaborate buttons and ribbon details throughout, is perfect if you’re aiming for a more generic Bridgerton costume for men.
We also like it because, depending on how you style it, it can work for many more costume events to come!
The Eloise Jacket
We love this Regency-style jacket as a Bridgerton costume to portray the witty, bookish, curious, feminist icon Eloise, aka the second eldest Bridgerton daughter.
Simply wear over an empire waist dress, style your hair with two curled tendrils framing your face, and you’re set! (Carry a book for an extra touch.)
‘The Diamond of the Season’ Set Jewelry
When it comes to nailing your Bridgerton costume, it’s all about the details. This costume jewelry set comes with the requisite faux diamond necklace, bracelet, ring, earrings, and tiara that lets suitors know that your dowry is as fabulous as your outfit.
The Kate Costume
This is an impressive facsimile of a costume worn by Kate Sharma in season 2 and comes complete with a dress, robe (to be worn over the lilac dress), and gloves. And bonus: It pairs perfectly with our favorite Anthony-inspired costume!
The Benedict Shirt
Every family has their artiste and, for the Bridgertons, that’s second-born Benedict. While his shirt would probably work for any male character, just look at these artsy ruffles! Just add a coat with tails or a stylish vest! (and pants, of course — we know the show gets racy, but we want to keep the costumes PG).
French Empress Dress
Around the same time Bridgerton is taking place, Napoleon and Empress Josephine were ruling France… though, admittedly, not for much longer.
We love this dazzling white gown as an homage to the women’s dresses at the start of “the season,” or as a sort of continental answer to a typical Bridgerton costume.
The Featherington Costume
The Featherington family has a truly outrageous fashion sense, and none more so than matriarch Lady Portia, who never met a floral detail she didn’t love.
We like this (somewhat more modern) dress as a way to capture her style. Pair with flashy colorful jewelry and an elaborate (but somehow tasteful) updo!
The Edwina Costume
This dress is more a nod to Edwina’s “pretty in pink” style than a period-accurate gown. We think if styled with gloves and the right hair and jewelry, however, it works as a fabulous Bridgerton costume (and can be worn after your costume event for whatever soirée you have on your social calendar moving forward).
