Fun events planned for the weekend in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It’s Friday and we have events you and the family can enjoy this upcoming weekend. From basketball to a vendor market, there will be several events for anyone to check out.

Tonight, the Memphis Grizzlies are back in the FedEx Forum as they face the Orlando Magic. The Grizzlies will try to extend their winning streak to three after beating the Miami Heat 105 to 96 this past Wednesday.

The tip-off for tonight’s game is 7 p.m.

Happening Saturday and Sunday, an Exotic Pet Expo will make a stop at the Landers Center in Southaven. Expect to see parrots, tarantulas, geckos, snakes, sugar gliders and lots more. Admission is $10 per person. It’s free for children ages 12 and under.

Saturday’s expo time is 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday’s time is 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Parking is also free.

If you stick around the Southaven area on Saturday, the Memphis Hustle will be in action at the Landers Center too. The Hustle will be hosting the Santa Cruz Warriors. Both teams are on winning streaks so this is sure to be a good one.

The tip-off for that game is at 7 p.m.

If you’re into birdwatching or gardening, you’ll want to check out The Birds and The Seeds event happening Saturday at the Lichterman Nature Center. The event runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. They’ll have winter workshops, a seed swap, seed giveaways, live animal presentations, and even indoor plant sales.

This event is free to the public.

Also Saturday in Midtown, The Memphis Made Brewing Company is hosting a market with the best vendors throughout the area. It’ll begin at 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. The market will feature jewelry, decor, candles, clothing, accessories, baked goods, and more!

The location of the brewery is at 768 South Cooper Street.

In the Downtown area Saturday, Oh Sweets Skin Care is hosting a “Teen Vision and Dreams Board” workshop. Join them for a fun and inspiring in-person event where teens create vision boards to manifest their dreams and goals.

This workshop is exclusively for teens who are ready to take charge of their lives and make things happen. Guest speakers will be there to help encourage and uplift the youth. The workshop starts at 2 p.m. and lasts until 4 p.m.

All materials for vision boards will be provided. Tickets are free and can be claimed online. One ticket covers one chaperone and one teen.
