Fun-loving Raiders move on to regionals

May 29—MIDDLEBURY — The Northridge softball team's desire to mix fun with work was put on full display midway through the sixth inning when one of the umpires needed a bathroom break that lasted some five minutes.

While most in the stands sat and shivered during the unplanned timeout on a Friday night in May that felt more like fall bleeding into winter, here were the Raiders on the field and in the dugout doing some traditional dance moves to "YMCA" as the song blared on the public address. In the outfield, a couple players even offered up handstands.
