Lawrence County Interfaith Endeavor (LIFE) Food Pantry Administrative Assistant Christy Walls smiled as she and Pantry Director of Operations Laura Bailey filled food orders Tuesday afternoon.

Bailey said the food pantry has done pretty well with the recent fundraising efforts. She cited the recent WBIW "Stuff a Bus" promotion, and the annual Fantasia Christmas Tree auction, which raised over $10,000.

The Pantry is busier than this time last year, Bailey said.

"We're seeing a lot of new clients that we haven't seen before," she said.

Bailey said the most needed food items are canned soups, spaghetti and spaghetti sauce, and canned meats.

People wanting to make donations can either come in during operating hours, Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-11:30 a.m. and 1-3:30 p.m., or there is a drop off tote behind the building at 1204 I St. The phone number is 812 279-4442.
