The nation paid its final respects Thursday to the Rev. C.T. Vivian, a pioneer of the civil rights movement, at a funeral service at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta. (July 23)

MARTIN LUTHER KING III You know, how he lives his life, in a ferocious but positive way. Doctor Vivian had an unusual love. He had a love for all people. But he had an unusual love for what dad and the philosophy of nonviolence. He personified it every day of his life.
What Dr. Vivian and Congressman Lewis would want to see was continuous engagement. And that's what we're seeing.
