Funeral services scheduled for former SD Gov. Harvey Wollman

Funeral services for former South Dakota Gov. Harvey Wollman, who died Tuesday of natural causes at the age of 87, have been scheduled for Sunday and Monday, according to his obituary.

Wollman's funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church in Huron, his obituary states. Wollman will be buried at 3 p.m. at the Ebenezer Mennonite Brethren Church Cemetery in Doland. Graveside military honors will be provided.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Kuhler Funeral Home, according to his obituary. Wollman's family will be present from 4 to 7 p.m.

Wollman's family declined a state funeral, according to the governor's office.

Flags will be flown at half-staff through sundown Monday, according to the governor's office.

Wollman was the last Democrat in the Governor's Mansion. He served five months in office from 1978 to 1979 after Gov. Richard Kneip was appointed U.S. Ambassador to Singapore.

Wollman is survived by his wife Anne, three children, seven grandchildren, siblings and nieces and nephews, according to his obituary.
