Funeral service set for stillborn baby found in garbage bag near Richland
A stillborn baby found in a garbage bag by the side of Interstate 82 will be laid to rest with a funeral service April 8 in Richland.
It will be at Our Little Lambs at Sunset Memorial Gardens, a place for babies and children.
A cleanup crew for the Washington state Department of Ecology found the body March 6 at the on-ramp to Interstate 182 from Interstate 82 west of Richland.
Investigators continue work to use DNA and evidence found with the baby, born at 30 weeks, to find the parents.
An anonymous donor arranged for the burial with Hillcrest Funerals and Cremation of Kennewick providing the service at no charge.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Sunset Memorial Gardens, 915 Bypass Highway, (Highway 240) Richland.
