Funny man Kevin James is headed to the World’s Most Famous Beach for an April 4 comedy performance at the Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach.

James, of course, is best-known for his nine-year sitcom run as the star of the CBS prime-time hit “The King of Queens,” as well as an armload of movies and TV comedy specials.

When is Kevin James performing in Daytona Beach?

James will bring his “Owls Don’t Walk” tour to the Peabody Auditorium for a 7:30 p.m. show April 4.

How much are tickets?

Tickets, on sale now, range from $39-$79 at Ticketmaster.com. You can also purchase tickets at the Peabody box office at 600 Auditorium Blvd., in Daytona Beach. Box office hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. For details, call 386-671-3462.

Beyond the sitcom, what else is Kevin James known for?

James, who started his show business career as a stand-up on the Long Island comedy scene, signed the network deal that resulted in “King of Queens” after being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival.

“King of Queens” garnered James an Emmy nomination for outstanding lead actor in a comedy series. It continues to be fairly inescapable in daily syndication nationwide.

Beyond the series, James also was the star and executive producer of “The Crew,” a Netflix comedy series set in the world of NASCAR. He’s now developing another comedy project for the network.

His other TV credits include “Sweat the Small Stuff,” an hourlong special for Comedy Central, the HBO Sports golf documentary “Making the Cut: The Road to Pebble Beach.” A second comedy special, “Never Don’t Give Up” also was offered on Netflix.

On the big screen, James was the producer, co-writer, and star of the comedies “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 1 & 2,” “Zookeeper” and “Here Comes The Boom.”

Additional movie credits include a role in “Hitch,” starring Will Smith, as well as roles alongside Adam Sandler in “Pixels,” “Grown Ups,” “Grown Ups 2” and “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry.”
