Furman men's basketball is looking to make a Cinderella run in March Madness. Two days after an upset of No. 4-seed Virginia, the 13-seed Paladins are taking on 5-seed San Diego State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday.

Furman's upset of the Cavaliers was the Paladins' second-ever win in the tournament and first since 1974. That year, the field was still only 25 teams. Furman lost its second game and was eliminated in the regional semifinal, meaning a win against San Diego State on Saturday would be the first time the Paladins (28-7) have won multiple games at the NCAA Tournament.

The Aztecs (28-6) defeated College of Charleston 63-57 in the first round of March Madness. San Diego State is playing in its third consecutive NCAA Tournament, but it hadn't advanced past the first round of the tournament since the 2014-15 season.

The winner of Saturday's matchup will face either No. 1-seed Alabama or No. 8-seed Maryland in the Sweet Sixteen on Mar. 24.
