What new furniture store is coming to Peach Street?

A new furniture store is coming to the Erie area.

Bob's Discount Furniture, a 161-store chain that's based in Manchester, Connecticut, is opening a new 25,000-square-foot location in the Target plaza off Peach Street in Summit Township.

The store, part of a chain founded 31 years ago, will have a soft opening on June 27 or 28, followed by a more formal opening on July 1.

"We pride ourselves on always having the best value in the market for furniture and the best value in living room, dining room, bedroom as well as outdoor furniture, and all kinds of accessories," said Scott Bunish, a vice president for the company.

Asked to describe the store's price structure, Bunish said, "We promise no matter what you need, we will have it and we'll have it at the best value."

Bunish said Bob's will be making a series of charitable donations to mark its ribbon-cutting event. Donations will be made to several local nonprofits, including the Veterans Miracle Center and the Children's Advocacy Center.

The store, which specializes in furniture that's wired for motion, lighting and charging, will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
