Sir'Leland E. Davis III, 6, is in kindergarten at J.W. Seabrook Elementary School.

He was nominated as a Future Black History Maker because "He’s genuinely polite and endearing with a heart to help others," his nominator writes. "He even volunteers to assist the older men at his church. Plus, he’s incredibly talented in academics and sports. At such a young age, he’s already proven to be an excellent student, athlete and aspiring model. He effortlessly overachieves and has nothing but a bright future ahead!"

What do you want to be when you grow up? A police officer

What are your hobbies? Go see my grandparents, model, play football, play Fortnite with my Uncle Dee and Maya

What are you really good at doing? Reading, adding and subtracting playing football, playing Fortnite and taking care of my brother.

What's your favorite thing about yourself? Loving everybody in my family

Who is your role model? My daddy

What makes your child a Future Black History Maker? Sir excels in multiple areas of life to be so young. He's an exemplary student, thriving athlete and aspiring model. Sir continues to have a positive outlook on life as he spreads joy into every room he walks in. His heart is pure and wants nothing but the best for those he comes in contact with in the classroom, on the field and in the community.

Why are you proud of your child? Although he is young in age; he is very mature in multiple areas. He is not only intelligent but he has a heart full of love. Throughout the day he is always caught caring for others and ensuring he assists them when needed. He's an excellent student and an athlete and model. He excels in all sports played including basketball, baseball and his favorite football. He has modeled in many shows from North Carolina trailing down to Georgia. Understanding him as a wonderful student-athlete is one thing but he also helps the Trustees of the church with the building upkeep.
