How future Division I FBS prospects fared in the 2021 TSSAA football state championships

CHATTANOOGA - Several future FBS Division I players were in action this week for the 2021 TSSAA state football championships at Finley Stadium.

Here's a look at how each player fared in their game:

Kaleb Beasley, Lipscomb Academy, So.: Beasley, a sophomore with offers from Florida, Michigan, Tennessee, NC State and Kentucky, recorded three tackles.

Alex Broome, Lipscomb Academy, Sr.: Broome, a Boston College commitment, was named the DII-AA MVP rushing for 137 yards, two touchdowns and catching five passes for 23 yards.

Jackson Cassidy, McKenzie, Jr.: Cassidy, who has an offer from Middle Tennessee State, completed 13-of-21 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 13 tackles (nine solo) and 1.5 tackles for loss.

Giovanni Davis, South Pittsburg, Sr.: Davis, who has offers from Arkansas, Arizona State, Ole Miss and Tennessee, had four tackles (two solo), two tackles for loss and a sack.

Carson Gentle, McCallie, So: Gentle, a sophomore with offers Ole Miss and Tennessee, had four tackles and a sack.

Ayden Greene, Powell, Jr.: Greene, who has offers from Marshall, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Tulane, Virginia and West Virginia, had five receptions for 53 yards and a touchdown.

Isaiah Horton, Oakland, Sr.: Horton, a Miami commitment, had two receptions for 18 yards.

Jordan James, Oakland, Sr.: James, a Georgia commitment, was named the Class 6A MVP after rushing for 232 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries. He also had two receptions for 57 yards.

Tyler Jeffries, Alcoa, Jr.: Jeffries, who has offers from Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, Mississippi State, Oregon, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, helped Alcoa rush for 216 yards.

Dylan King, Oakland, Sr.: King, who is a Tennessee state commit but also holds an offer from Marshall, had six tackles (four solo) and an interception.

Cade Law, CPA, Sr.: Law, a Vanderbilt baseball signee, was 6-of-13 for 90 yards and had an interception. He also ran for 28 yards.

Bryan Longwell, Lipscomb Academy, Jr.: Longwell, a junior with an offer from Liberty, recorded six tackles and also had a four-yard fumble recovery.

Jaden Lyles, Lipscomb Academy, Sr.: An Austin-Peay commitment, Lyles finished with six tackles.

Jake McNamara, Page, Sr.: McNamara, a Colorado State commitment, completed 32-of-56 passes for 291 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in the 42-34 loss to Powell.

Grayson Morgan, MBA, Sr.: A Vanderbilt commitment, Morgan had two tackles on defense and anchored an offensive line that ran for 82 yards.

Major Newman, Alcoa, Sr.: Newman, a senior with offers from Army, Ball State, Georgia Southern and Navy. had 10 tackles (six solo), two pass deflections, a tackle for loss and a forced fumble.

Walter Nolen, Powell, Sr.: A Texas A&M commitment, Nolen had seven tackles (six solo), four tackles for loss, two sacks, and a quarterback hit. He also had a 3-yard rushing touchdown.

Ronan O'Connell, Page, So.: O'Connell, who has an offer from Western Kentucky, helped Page rush for 101 yards one tackle.

Antonio Patterson, Oakland, Sr.: Patterson, who has an offer from Western Kentucky, had 110 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. He also had one reception for 71 yards and a touchdown.

Langston Patterson, CPA, Sr.: A Vanderbilt commitment, Patterson ran for a team-high 105 yards to go along with 11 tackles.

Kenzy Paul, McCallie, Sr.: A Duke commitment, Paul caught two passes for 37 yards and a touchdown while also recording three tackles and an interception.

Ian Poe, Tullahoma, Sr.: Poe, who has an offer from Western Kentucky, helped Tullahoma rush for 213 yards.

Adarius Redmond, Powell, Jr.: Redmond, who has offers, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech, had six catches for 139 yards and a touchdown.

Marcel Reed, MBA, Jr.: A four-star prospect with several Power Five offers, Reed was 12-of-23 for 133 yards and an interception to go along with a team-high 56 rushing yards.

Luther Richesson, Lipscomb Academy, Sr.: A Cincinnati commitment, Richesson was 17-of-19 for 147 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Sam Roush, Lipscomb Academy, Sr.: A Stanford tight end commitment, Roush finished with three tackles on defense.

Junior Sherrill, Lipscomb Academy, Jr.: Sherrill caught seven passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.

Ty Simpson, Westview: Simpson, an Alabama commitment, was named the Class 2A MVP after completing 5-of-10 passes for 99 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. He also rushed the ball 10 times for 181 yards and two touchdowns.

Brandon Solis, Lipscomb Academy: Solis helped the Mustangs rush for 194 yards.

Nate Spillman, Lipscomb Academy, Jr.: Spillman caught a 55-yard touchdown pass.

Colin Stewart, CPA, Sr.: Stewart, who is an Air Force commitment and also has an offer from Navy, had five tackles (two solo) and a tackle for loss.

Marquez Taylor, McKenzie: Taylor, who has offers from Boston College, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Michigan State, Ole Miss and Tennessee, had 85 yards, a touchdown and a fumble on 21 carries. He also had two receptions for 38 yards.

Destin Wade, Summit, Sr.: Wade, a Kentucky commitment, completed 8-of-19 passes for 137 yards and one touchdown. He also had 165 yards and two touchdowns for 165 yards.

Keaton Wade, Summit, Sr.: Wade, a Kentucky commitment, rushed for 71 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.

Lance Williams, Alcoa, Jr.: Williams, has offers from Kansas, Cincinnati, South Carolina, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Appalachian State, Tulane and Virginia Tech, helped Alcoa rush for 216 yards.

Reid Williford, CPA, Sr.: A Charlotte commitment, Williford caught two passes for 25 yards and also had six tackles.

Alan Young, MBA, Jr.: Young didn't record any stats against McCallie.
