Fuzzy’s Taco Shop offering free taco after passing inspection
TOPEKA (KSNT) – Fuzzy’s Taco Shop in Topeka is offering a free taco to customers after the Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) gave the business a clean bill of health.
Earlier this month, a customer turned to social media after finding cockroaches under a seat at the restaurant. The video quickly went viral in the Topeka area.
Fuzzy’s Taco Shop responded by taking action to deep clean the location, according to a statement provided to KSNT News. The shop reopened for business after passing a health inspection on Jan. 25.
Fuzzy’s Taco Shop is now offering customers a free taco.
“We have received a clean bill of health from the Health Department and we’ve passed our Fuzzy’s Corporate Inspection as of Friday!” Fuzzy’s Taco Shop in Topeka announced on Facebook. “To show support of our loyal customers we would like to offer a FREE, that’s right a free Fuzzy’s OG Taco (formerly known as Baja Tacos) for dine-in only at Fuzzy’s in Topeka.”

On Jan. 24, the KDA inspected the 17th St. location after receiving a complaint. The inspection found two compliance issues that were corrected on-site. According to the report, if repeat violations are found consequences could result in:
An embargo on non-compliant products.
Immediate closure of the establishment.
Civil penalties up to $1,000 per violation.
Denial of license renewal.
Modification, suspension and/or revocation of any license or authority issued.
And/or penalties authorized by law.
The next inspection of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop will be on a routine inspection cycle unless the KDA receives additional complaints.
