Fyffe builds on nation's longest high school football winning streak with 51 victories

Fyffe football will hold the longest winning streak in high school football for at least another week.

The Red Devils defeated North Sand Mountain 42-14 to push its winning streak to 51 straight.

Fyffe (6-0) led by as much as six touchdowns in the fourth quarter. The Red Devils entered the night tied with Verbena , which also won 50 straight from 1950-1954, for the second longest streak in Alabama history.

Clay County, which won 55 straight games between 1994-97, hold the Alabama record.

The Red Devils last loss came at the hand of Sulligent in the third round of the Class 2A playoffs on Nov. 24, 2017. They have won three straight state championships.

Kyle Dukes ran the ball 10 times for 144 yards and scored three touchdowns in the victory. Will Stephens added six rushes for 61 yards and a score, while Brody Hicks had 10 runs for 51 yards and a touchdown.

Fyffe out-gained North Sand Mountain 385-223 and forced three turnovers.
