Food Pantry needs support

The Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry has been hit hard this year with an over 30% increase in requests for food and support services. That is the most people that the Food Pantry has ever served in a six-month time period. Sadly, coupled with this high increase in demand is a 50% reduction in the food supply from sources like the Central Texas Food Bank. And they are not alone. Food pantries from across Central Texas are experiencing the pinch of high demand and low supply, especially in rural counties like Bastrop that often have fewer options to begin with.

Please consider making a financial or food donation to help support the most vulnerable people in our community. Mail your donation of cash or by check to 806 Fayette Street Bastrop, TX or mail to PO 953 Bastrop, TX 78602. To donate by credit card or cash app: bastropfoodpantry.org/donate.

If you would like to donate food, please check the website where it lists items that are always in high demand.
