GA election official: audit will dispel 'nonsense'

The hand count audit of the presidential election will start Friday at 9 a.m. and continue through midnight Nov. 18.

Sterling said 9,000 Georgia voters in Fulton County opted to sit out of the presidential race but cast a vote for Senator David Perdue.

He also rejected the false claim that a supercomputer and program, purportedly named Hammer and Scorecard, could have flipped votes in the state, a conspiracy theory U.S. cybersecurity official Christopher Krebs has described as "nonsense" and a "hoax."

The news conference came after some media outlets reported that Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger will quarantine after his wife tested positive for COVID-19, a day after he announced Georgia would conduct a full audit of the presidential election results.
