Gabe Sisk to leave Ballard High School for California prep school

Gabe Sisk, a first-team All-State basketball player at Ballard High School last season, has announced he’s transferring to Prolific Prep in Napa, California.

Ballard coach Greg Willis confirmed Sisk’s transfer Sunday.

A 6-foot-5 senior, Sisk averaged 17.3 points and 6.3 rebounds last season while helping Ballard go 28-7 and reach the Seventh Region Tournament final. Sisk shot 47.6% from the field, 32.5% from 3-point range (53 of 163) and 71.4% from the free-throw line.

Sisk was a second-team All-State pick as a sophomore and scored 1,375 points at Ballard. He has scholarship offers from Coastal Carolina, Eastern Kentucky and Iona.

Sisk is the sixth prominent player from Louisville to leave the city this off-season. University of Louisville commit Kaleb Glenn left Male for La Lumiere in La Porte, Ind. Christian Academy brothers George Washington III (Ohio State commit) and Jackson Washington left for Chaminade Julienne Catholic in Dayton, Ohio. Western’s Kaden Magwood transferred to Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia. Zee McCown transferred from Pleasure Ridge Park to Winchendon in Massachusetts.
