“Fluffy” is coming to Sand Mountain.

A California native, Iglesias is the youngest of six children who were raised by a single mother. He has said he used humor as a way to deal with his childhood experiences.

He launched his stand-up comedy career in 1997 and gained prominence in a series of cable TV specials where he poked fun at his portliness, often observing, “I’m not fat, I’m fluffy.” (The nickname stuck.)

A stand-up comedy film for theaters, “The Fluffy Movie,” was released in 2014.

Iglesias in 2018 was named one of “The Top 40 Comedy Players” by the Hollywood Reporter, according to his website, joining such notables as Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld and “Saturday Night Live” founder Lorne Michaels.

His website describes his stand-up comedy work as "a mixture of storytelling, parodies, characters and sound effects that bring his personal experiences to life” that is popular across all age groups.

Iglesias’ YouTube videos have gained more than a billion views, according to his website, and he has more than 25 million social media followers.

He’s acted in various films and TV shows, and currently appears as a teacher on the Netflix series “Mr. Iglesias” and hosts “Unleashed,” a comedy competition show on Nickleodeon.

Iglesias also is a busy voice actor in such TV shows as “Family Guy” and “The Emperor’s New School,” and films like “Planes,” “The Nut Job,” “El Americano: The Movie,” “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” “Coco,” “Ugly Dolls,” “The Star,” “Ferdinand” and “Maya and the Three.”

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at https://bit.ly/3JaJ9an. Prices will be announced.

Gates open at 6 p.m. on the night of the show. An opening act to be announced will take the stage about 6:30 p.m., according to venue officials.
