Because of an error in the way the poll was set up, the results of the Gainesville Sun Student of the Week poll, reported on Jan. 28, were incorrect. The poll did not register all of the votes that were cast before the deadline of noon on Thursday, Jan. 25.

There was only one nominee last week, so there was no Student of the Week poll and thus no results to report today.

Participating Alachua County high school principals, teachers and guidance counselors are invited to nominate students who have shown outstanding academic and school achievement and community service. Nominations are due by noon Thursday.

A new poll posts online every Monday (provided we have at least two nominees) and we announce a winner and runner-up online on Friday and in print on Sunday.
