Galax FD reminds residents of water outage on Valentine’s Day

GALAX, Va. (WFXR) — The Galax Fire Department is reminding residents that a water outage is scheduled for Valentine’s Day due to a valve replacement.

The department says water is expected to shut off around 9 a.m. in the Fries Road area on Feb. 14. The outage will also impact residents in the following areas and among other side streets including:

  • Kenbrook Drive

  • Frazier Road

  • Waterwheel Road

  • Leonard Lane

  • Elm Tree Lane

Officials said the outage is expected to last for about four hours and are encouraging residents to plan accordingly.
