Galentine's Day at Crompton Collective set to make its post-COVID return

WORCESTER — The Crompton Collective in the Canal District will be hosting its second Galentine's Day, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Local businesses — many of which are housed at Crompton — will come together to throw a lobby party, focusing on the themes of girlfriends and self care.

The event is a collaboration between Makes Like a Girl, Crompton Collective, Haberdash Worcester, the Birchtree Bread Company and Bedlam Book Café.

All participating businesses on Green Street will be open late.

Attendees can learn the future with oracle card readings at Bedlam, enjoy some heart shape pizza at Birchtree and sweet treats from The Queens Cups, along with refreshments including rose tastings at Canal District Wines and mocktails from Evergreen Room.

Inspired by a 2018 episode of the TV series, "Parks and Recreation," Galentine's Day celebrates a "holiday" before Valentine's Day when women in particular affirm their friendships and pamper themselves.

The Collective started celebrating in 2020 with its shopping offerings, but the event was unable to be held again until this year due to the pandemic.
