The Gallery presents five area artists for its first show of the season

PORTSMOUTH — Five artist’s come together for the first show of the season at Portsmouth’s Gallery in the Halls,100 Market Gallery, located on Floors 2,3, and 4 at 100 Market St., in Portsmouth.

The Gallery presents five area artists for its first show. Annette Brennan is the new Curator for the venue and she is also a photographic artist herself. Artists are sought and invited to present their work free of commission or admission, with the intent to enrich the scope of accessibility and provide opportunity artists.

“Viewpoints” is opening Thursday, April 13, with an artist reception from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. This will be on the 2nd floor. We will also arrange for a second reception during the Portsmouth Artwalks. The show will be on view from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, on floors 2-4, and on Saturdays on floor 2 only from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Artists are available to meet other times with potential customers during these hours, and outside these times if requested.

Jon Winslow and Annette Brennan Photography; and, Anita Loomis, Peter Cady and Lisa Young, Painters in acrylics, watercolors and oils will present their works together and the show will run from April 13 through Sunday, July 9. A sales catalogue of their works will be available on the 2nd floor, at the top of the stairs, throughout the show.

Jon Winslow is an amazing fine art printer and is also an artist of photography and presents wildlife, area natural beauty and the Portsmouth area. His work can be viewed at his printing studio Image Arts. Etc. His website is www.customprintingandframing.com.

Annette Brennan is also a photographic artist and presents scenes from the seashore on canvas and is expert at creating the perfect piece for above the mantel or for your seaside cottage. Her website is at www.annettebrennanphotography.com.

Peter Cady grew up on the coast of New Hampshire and studied painting as a boy by observing painters with their easels overlooking the ocean and has mastered his art in brilliant shapes and colors. He studied engineering and was drawn to things artistic and working with his hands. His website is at www.petercadycreates.com.

Lisa Young creates beautiful serene New England landscapes in oil and can also be seen regularly at the Kennedy Gallery Portsmouth, N.H., or the Wright Gallery, Maine. Her website is at www.lisayoungart.com.
