Galt gets major biz boost: Bay City Electric Works breaks ground on new facility

Nov. 10—GALT — A Southern California business that has become the leading provider of generator sales, parts and rentals will be taking up shop in Galt. The City of Galt broke ground on a new 20,000-square -foot Bay City Electric Works at 695 Industrial Way on Monday.

"We are thrilled to welcome Bay City Electric Works to Galt and look forward to the job opportunities and economic growth this new facility will bring to our city," Mayor Jay Vandenburg said. "This groundbreaking ceremony signifies a strong partnership between the City of Galt and Bay City Electric Works, and we are excited about the positive impact it will have on our community."

Founded in 1932 and based in Poway, Bay City Electric Works supplies generator systems to customers throughout California, as well as in Nevada and Hawaii.

The nearest Bay City Electric Works location is in Livermore. According to www.bcew.com, the company provides solutions for data centers, water and sewer districts, healthcare facilities, utilities, military bases, high-rise buildings, high-tech, bio-tech, pharmaceutical, government, airports, retail, manufacturing, casinos and residences.
