Bet on it, Kansas.

Gov. Laura Kelly announced that legalized sports betting in person and on mobile apps will begin Sept. 1, just in time for football season.

Mobile betting apps are preparing for the launch by offering special deals ahead of Sept. 1.

DRAFT KINGS

For those registering now to place bets in Kansas, you’ll get $100 in free bets when you sign up. You’ll also be entered into a pool to win a free bet worth $100,000 when you sign up.

The free bet is valid for seven days after you receive the money in the app.

FANDUEL

The betting app is having a “Kansas Kickoff” to celebrate the sports betting launch. Those who sign up now to bet in Kansas will get $100 in free bets on Sept. 1. The free bets expire 14 days after.

BETMGM

BetMGM is offering $200 in free bets from now until Sept. 8. The credit expires seven days after Kansas betting goes live.

The offer can’t be withdrawn from the app for money.

POINTSBET

The NBC Sports affiliate has a deal for two risk-free bets worth up to $2,000. You can get up to $500 in free bet credits if your first fixed odd wager loses and up to $1,500 if your first PointsBetting wager loses.

These offers will expire seven days after the credits hit your account. They can’t be redeemed or withdrawn for cash.

WHERE ELSE CAN I BET?

Along with the betting apps above, Caesars and BallyBet will be available in Kansas on day one.

The four casinos in Kansas that will host in-person betting are:

  • Boot Hill Casino & Resort in Ford County, near Dodge City

  • Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane

  • Hollywood Casino at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas

  • Kansas Crossing Casino & Hotel in Pittsburg

The governor’s release also noted that “tribal casinos are also working to align on contracts with the State of Kansas for sports wagering. These casinos will be authorized to launch as soon as they are ready.”

“Legalizing sports betting is a common-sense solution that keeps Kansans’ money in Kansas and drives business to sporting events, casinos, restaurants, and other entertainment venues,” Kelly said in a statement. “I want to thank all our partners for working with us to get this done in time for football season.”

You must be 21 and up to bet in the state, whether in-person or online.
