We all know Emilia Clarke as our Queen, aka Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons. Or just Dany from Game of Thrones for short.

Things could have been very different however, if Emilia had accepted the role she was offered in Fifty Shades of Grey.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Emilia revealed that she turned down the role of Anastasia Steele because she did not want to get naked on camera again.

Revealing that she had been approached by Sam Taylor-Johnson, Emilia explained, "Well, Sam is a magician. I love her, and I thought her vision was beautiful. But the last time that I was naked on camera on [Game of Thrones] was a long time ago, and yet it is the only question that I ever get asked because I am a woman."

Continuing, Emilia shared the double standards of female nudity on screen. "It's annoying as hell and I'm sick and tired of it because I did it for the character - I didn't do it so some guy could check out my tits, for God's sake. I did a minimal amount and I'm pigeonholed for life."

Considering Emilia's experience, it's totally understandable why she turned down a role in a film that is pretty much entirely based on sex and nudity.

As we all know, the roles finally went to Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson. However if the original casting had gone to plan, the film would have been very different, after all Charlie Hunnam also turned down the role of Christian Grey...
