There's no denying that Game of Thrones was arguably one of the best TV series produced in recent times. From its complex characters, *impeccable* wardrobe department, and big-budget fantasy production, there's probably not a person on this planet that hasn't heard of the mythical land of Westeros. Unless you've been living under a cultural rock, that is.

But this title still has the potential to be held, that's if you can forgive the sour ending that sent many OG fans into a flurry. ICYMI, the generic reaction was that it was a little anticlimactic and not up to the previous GOT standard. However, even though fans still haven't quite made their peace with how the show wrapped up, they've still got high hopes for its prequel, House of the Dragon, which is set for release on the 21st of August.

Taking to Twitter to express their excitement for the show despite their feelings, one fan wrote: "Even though the last season of Game of Thrones was a complete utter debacle and disastrous disappointment, I'm now finding myself getting hyped for House of the Dragon. Who is with me? God help us."

Another fan referenced the ending with a classic festival meme, writing: "The ending to Game of Thrones was a total letdown, bro. We never got Jon Snow vs The Night King. Jaime left Brienne to keep fucking his sister. My favourite character Daenerys murdered literally everyone. And Bran ended up as King. But you should still watch House of the Dragon..."

Someone else took to the social media platform to comment on the topic, typing: If House of the Dragon sucks, you’ll never hear the end of it from me. It needs to be good. Pay us back for that lousy GOT ending," as another joked: "HBO seeing everyone that hated the last season of GOT tune in for House of the Dragon every week."

Tbh, we'll still be watching. We're not gonna lie.

House of the Dragon will hit viewers' screens on August 21 on HBO.
