Game of Thrones' Jon Snow spin-off show gets disappointing update

Disappointing news for Game of Thrones fans as it seem the previously announced Jon Snow spinoff is nowhere near to get the green light from HBO.
Word of a series focusing on the Night's Watchman played by Kit Harington first started circulating last year, with both Daenerys actress Emilia Clarke and GoT creator George RR Martin confirming the spinoff was official.
The show was expected not to see the light for quite some time amidst the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, but it appears it is far from happening altogether, as HBO CEO and chairman Casey Bloys confirmed.

"I wouldn't say there is anything else in that world that is close to a green light or anything," Bloys said referring to all GoT's announced or rumoured offshoots (via TVLine).
Bloys did confirm, however, that the network is "always working on different scripts and ideas," which may mean not all hope is lost for more Thrones-adjacent adventures.
"We always have Game of Thrones scripts in development. We greenlit Dunk and Egg in the spring," he continued, hinting at the series order for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, based on Martin's Dunk and Egg novellas.

Speaking of the GoT spinoffs that are already well in production, prequel House of the Dragon recently set on a release window for its second season.
Premiered in the summer of 2022, the series focusing on the Targaryen civil war takes place two centuries before the events of Game of Thrones. Its second instalment, set to come to our screens in "early summer" next year, picks up after a war of succession between Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) and Queen Alicent's (Olivia Cooke) heirs broke out in the first season finale.
House of the Dragon airs on HBO in the US, and on Sky Atlantic and NOW in the UK. Game of Thrones seasons 1-8 are available on DVD and Blu-ray.
