Game of Thrones: Sophie Turner's tattoo appears to be major spoiler for series finale

Sophie Turner‘s Game of Thrones tattoo has taken on a new meaning now that the show’s finale has aired – and appears to constitute a major spoiler for how the series wrapped up.

The actor, who plays Sansa Stark in the fantasy drama, unveiled the new design in June 2018. Game of Thrones‘s eighth season reportedly filmed between late 2017 and July 2018.

Turner’s tattoo consists of an image of a direwolf, the emblem of House Stark, with the words “the pack survives” underneath.

Asked about the ink on The Late Late Show with James Corden in June last year, Turner assured the host it was “just a quote” and a “moral [she] likes to live by”.

However, in The Iron Throne, the series finale that aired on Sunday, the pack – meaning Stark siblings Sansa, Arya, Bran and Jon Snow – does survive.

This has led several fans to comment on the matter on Twitter, pointing out that the ink technically did constitute a spoiler in hindsight.

Game of Thrones is available on Now TV in the UK and on HBO in the US.
