Game time revealed for Kansas State's Oct. 2 home contest versus Oklahoma

Sep. 20—Kansas State's quest for a third consecutive victory over Oklahoma will begin in the afternoon.

A joint release from the Big 12 Conference and its television partners Monday announced that the Wildcats' home game versus the Sooners will kick off at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 2. The contest will be nationally broadcast on Fox.

K-State has taken down top-five Oklahoma squads each of the past two years: a 48-41 victory at Bill Snyder Family Stadium in 2019 followed by a furious second-half comeback to win 38-35 last season in Norman, Okla.

The last time the Wildcats beat the Sooners in three straight meetings came in the 1990s, when they won five in a row from 1993 through 1997.

This week, K-State (3-0) faces off in a matchup of unbeatens, as it travels to Stillwater, Okla., to take on Oklahoma State. It will be the Big 12 opener for both squads. The Wildcats' game versus the Cowboys will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at Boone-Pickens Stadium and air on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.

Oklahoma hosts West Virginia at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
