GameCenter final: UND 3, BSU 3, tie

Nov. 26—BEMIDJI, Minn. — UND rallied from a two-goal, second-period deficit to grab a tie with Bemidji State. Griffin Ness, Jackson Blake and Ty Farmer scored for the Fighting Hawks. The series finale is scheduled for 6:07 p.m. Saturday in Ralph Engelstad Arena.

First star: Jackson Blake, UND, 1 goal.

Second star: Griffin Ness, UND, 1 goal.

Third star: Lleyton Roed, BSU, 1 goal.

BSU 1, UND 0 — Jakub Lewandowski (Ross Armour) 3:57. The Beavers take advantage of their first chance of the game. Lewandowski gets the puck in the right circle with space. He hammers a shot that's blocked right back to him. He winds up and hammers it again and it goes far side on UND goalie Jakob Hellsten.

BSU 2, UND 0 — Eric Martin (Lleyton Roed, Elias Rosen) 16:49 (pp). Bemidji State capitalizes on its first power-play chance of the night when Roed gets the puck in the left circle and his shot hits the shaft of Mark Senden's stick and deflects right to Martin, who is sitting backdoor for the tap in.

BSU 2, UND 1 — Griffin Ness (Judd Caulfield, Dylan James) 2:25. Ness picks up a puck in the circle with space, walks around Beaver defender Tony Follmer and tries to set up Caulfield backdoor. Bemidji State goalie Mattias Sholl makes the save, but Ness buries the rebound.

BSU 3, UND 1 — Lleyton Roed (Kaden Pickering) 2:55. UND gives it right back on the next shift as Pickering wins a puck battle to start a two-on-one. He makes the feed to Roed, who picks the corner of the net.

BSU 3, UND 2 — Jackson Blake (Riese Gaber, Ty Farmer) 4:28. Blake enters the offensive zone up the middle with speed and makes a terrific chip pass to Gaber, who makes a move to backhand. Sholl makes an excellent save, but Blake follows it up and finishes. After the goal he points at the net, signaling that one counts after he had a goal disallowed in the first period.

BSU 3, UND 3 — Ty Farmer (Tyler Kleven, Dylan James) 18:37. UND dominates chances after the Blake goal and finally gets rewarded with 1:23 left in the period when Farmer snaps a point shot through two layers of traffic. It hits the stick of Beaver defender Mitch Wolfe and gets past Sholl.

Luke Bast will play his first game of the season for UND. He could see some substantial minutes off the bat as UND is only able to dress six defensemen because of an illness to Brent Johnson and an injury to Cooper Moore. . . The only healthy scratch is Jackson Kunz. . . Ben Strinden stays at center for UND. . . The Fighting Hawks are loading up a skill line with Riese Gaber and rookies Owen McLaughlin and Jackson Blake. . . The Fighting Hawks also have broke up the top defensive pairing of Tyler Kleven and Ethan Frisch. Kleven will play with Ryan Sidorski. Frisch will play with Chris Jandric. . . Bemidji State continues its incredible consistency with its lines. The only change the Beavers have made since the start of the season is at fourth line left wing (and extra skater). . . The goalie battle is Jakob Hellsten vs. Mattias Sholl.
