UND 1, Holy Cross 0 — Gavin Hain (Louis Jamernik V, Mark Senden) 17:22. Hain drives toward the net from the goal line and flips a puck at the net. It pops in the air, lands on top of the cage, then drops on the other side of the net. Hain finds it, moves it to his backhand and roofs it for his second goal of the season. Excluding the game where he suffered his season-ending injury and left early, Hain has now scored in five-straight games and six of the last seven.
UND 2, Holy Cross 0 — Ethan Frisch (Brent Johnson, Owen McLaughlin) 19:43 (pp). Johnson has the puck at the top and sends a pass to Frisch in the left circle. The Moorhead product hammers a one-timer by Louden Hogg, the goalie who knocked Frisch's younger brother, Grant, out of the state tournament in 2019.
Scoreless.

As expected, UND is giving both goaltenders a start this weekend. Drew DeRidder posted a 27-save shutout in the opener and Jakob Hellsten will start the series finale. . . UND makes three other personnel changes — forward Jackson Kunz, forward Carson Albrecht and forward Nick Portz are in; forward Ben Strinden, forward Griffin Ness and defenseman Ryan Sidorski are out. . . The only line that is staying together for UND is the Mark Senden, Gavin Hain and Louis Jamernik V unit. . . The Fighting Hawks are using an all-freshman line with Owen McLaughlin, Dylan James and Jackson Blake. McLaughlin and James were linemates all last season with Sioux City.
