Garaway, Claymont, Indian Valley, Tusky Valley and East Canton earn Week 5 wins

Garaway 51, Strasburg 14

Luis Wahl rushed for 214 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead Garaway over visiting Strasburg.

The Pirates, ranked No. 6 in this week's Associated Press Division V poll, improved to 5-0 overall by accumulating 514 total yards on offense. Jaylen Jiminez added 83 yards on eight carries and Dillon Soehnlen finished with 71 yards on eight totes.

Logan Yoder threw a touchdown pass to Brady Roden for another score as Garaway led 25-0 after the first quarter.

Strasburg quarterback Gage Moore completed 13 of 27 passes for 144 yards and a touchdown.

Claymont 27, Buckeye Trail 0

The Claymont (2-3) defense held visiting Buckeye Trail to just 148 total yards.

For the Mustangs, AJ Bowsher, Drew Fox and Isaac Birney all recorded interceptions.

On offense, Caden Elder rushed 15 times for 97 yards and scored two touchdowns. Quarterback Graydon Mooneyham completed 9-of-20 passes for 169 yards and a score, and rushed five times for 29 yards and a TD. The leading receivers were Brody Moreland, with two catches for 87 yards and a touchdown, and Isaac Birney, with four receptions for 52 yards.

East Canton 34, Sandy Valley 28

East Canton's Jake McCullough scored on a 1-yard run touchdown as time expired to give the Hornets the victory.

McCullough scored all five touchdowns on the night for East Canton (2-3), which won its second consecutive game. He rushed 24 times for 108 yards and four scores, and caught five passes for 75 yards and one TD.

East Canton quarterback Brennan Betz added 179 yards passing, completing 14-of-28 passes, and rushed 11 times for 67 yards. Isaiah Koontz added 59 yards rushing on 15 carries and 59 yards receiving on four catches.

Indian Valley 47, Newcomerstown 16

Indian Valley jumped out to a 28-0 first-quarter lead and never looked back.

Eric Golder and Grady Kinsey led the way with two rushing touchdowns each. Sam Carter and Kolton Thomas also scored, and Carter completed a 22-yard scoring strike to Gavin Henry.

The Braves rushed 28 times for 331 yards, averaging 11.8 yards per attempt.

Thomas also caught two passes for 31 yards.

Tusky Valley 35, Tuscarawas Central Catholic 7

Cole Clements passed for 213 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Trojans over the Saints.

Clements completed 13-of-24 attempts, and he connected with Beau Wolf seven times for 124 yards and a score. John Leffler and Drew Congdon also caught TD passes, and Clements and Jessie Carr rushed for scores.

Congdon, Bradly Lab and Noah Williams had interceptions for the Tusky Valley defense. Thomas Cotleur was in on 15 tackles.
