Garden City Chorus will serenade your sweetheart for Valentine’s Day
AUGUSTA, Ga (WJBF)- The traditional Valentine’s Day gifts include flowers, chocolate, and sometimes jewelry, or you can show your love to your sweetheart with a song.
On Valentine’s Day, half a dozen barber shop quartets with the Garden City Chorus will deliver Singing Valentines, taking your gift giving a step further by serenading your Valentine on your behalf.
For 34 years, the quartets put on their tuxedos and hit the pavement, providing those Singing Valentines to often shocked recipients across the Aiken Augusta Metro area.
For the $75 basic package, your Valentine will be serenaded with two romantic songs with beautiful harmony from a local barbershop quartet. The Singing Valentine also comes with a rose and a card with a personal message from you. You can upgrade to include a dozen roses and you get to name the specific time your Singing Valentine will be delivered.
On the organization’s website, there are several reviews from happy customers. Some of the singers also share memorable stories from delivering the Valentines.
“It’s especially fun to deliver a Singing Valentine from a woman to her husband or boyfriend,” Clarke S., of the Garden City Chorus said on the site. “Last year, my quartet went to a plant here in Augusta, and caught a guy going off-shift. He was stunned. His co-workers gathered around, and were ready to start razzing him — until they saw the tears welling up in his eyes.”
