Members of Alliance Garden Club celebrated National Garden Week with a June 8 visit to Zoar and a stop at Beech Creek Botanical Garden's Butterfly House.

Members visited a garden in Zoar that represents everlasting life. The women posed with a large spruce at the center of the garden. The garden has paths radiating from the center that symbolize the different paths to heaven.

After the tour, the women had lunch and their meeting at Anderson's in the Village Cafe and Coffee Shop in Navarre. Members learned where displays throughout the city promoting National Garden Week could be seen.

To finish the day's events, members stopped at Beech Creek Botanical Garden and Nature Preserve's Butterfly House.

During the visit, the ladies posed for a photo with an arbor members purchased in memory of lifelong member Maralee Gruey, who died Feb. 22, 2022, at age 101.

The club next will meet July 13 at Breezewood Gardens and Gifts in Chagrin Falls, with plans for lunch and a meeting at Yours Truly.

The club is seeking new members. Those interested can contact President Cheri Myers at 330-935-2996.
