The Garden Club of Windham hosts annual plant sale

May 26—WILLIMANTIC — Those looking to beautify their yards will have the opportunity to buy plants during The Garden Club of Windham's annual plant sale on May 28 and May 29.

The sale will be held on Saturday, May 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 246 North St. and on Sunday, May 29 from 9 a. m. to noon at the Willimantic Food Co- op, which is at 91 Valley St.

Proceeds from the plant sale will be used by the garden club to beautify public garden spaces.

There will be a large selection of plants donated by members of the garden club and local greenhouses. Plants that will be sold during the event include annuals, perennials, young shrubs and small trees. Other items that will be sold include plant supports, A few pots of white immortality irises will be sold from a planter on the Garden on the Bridge that was thinned out recently.

Garden club members will answer questions and offer advice about gardening at the plant sale, as well as educate attendees about ways to make their gardens a friendlier habit for creatures. For more information about the garden club, visit gardenclubofwindhamct.
