Adel Garden Party

5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 6 at Adel Historical Museum, 1125 Main St., Adel.

A garden party will be held on Thursday, July 6 at Aubrey's Gardens and the Adel Historical Museum. The museum will be open to tour from 5:30-7:30 p.m. while garden tours will be available from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The event will also feature live music, local coffee, wine and water. Tickets are $10 and proceeds will benefit the Adel Historical Museum. Tickets can be purchased online through Eventbrite and in person at Harvey's Greenhouse and Azalea Lane Boutique.

Kids Concert

11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Friday, July 7 at Forest Park Museum, Perry.

Bring your children and enjoy a free summer outdoor concert of fun and educational nature songs with a sing-along component. Learn how “Dirt Makes Your Lunch” and “Bats Eat Bugs.” Bring a sack lunch and blanket.Stick around to enjoy the park and museum for the remainder of the afternoon. No registration required.

Community Concert

6 p.m. Friday, July 7 at Community Stage and Pavilion, Adel.

Come enjoy live music from Central Iowa band Stranger Than Fiction on July 7, featuring a broad range of classic rock, blues and contemporary rock. There will be free food and drinks, activities for kids and fun for all. Email missions@restorationadel.church with questions.

Granger Yoga In The Park

8-9 a.m. Saturday, July 8 at Centennial Park, Granger.

Yoga in the Park is designed for improving community health, energizing, and relaxation. You are encouraged to bring a mat or a towel as well as some water and clothes you can move in. No registration for the class is required, just show up ready to relax, release and enjoy.

Memorial Golf Tournament

Sunday, July 9 at Perry Golf and Country Club.

Each year, the Perry Golf and Country Club honors the memory of a former member who had a significant impact on the club. This year, the 10th annual Memorial Golf Tournament will be played in honor of the late Louie and Doris Hensen. The tournament is open to anyone who would like to play in it on July 9. The Championship Flight will play 27 holes, while the senior division and all other flights will play 18 holes. The defending champion is Denny Bull and the defending senior champion is Randy McCaulley. To enter, call the clubhouse at (515) 465-3852.

History of the Washing Machine in Perry

The new Perry Iowa Historical Society will hold a free presentation at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 9 on the history of washing machines in Perry.

Free Merchant Movies

11 a.m. Wednesday, July 12 at Perry Grand 3 Theatres.

The Perry Grand 3 Theatres will continue the 2023 summer movies with "Minions: The Rise of Gru" on July 12. All movies will be shown at 11 a.m. on Wednesdays through Aug. 2. The Dallas County Fair will return from July 12-16. Field Day at Wills Family Orchard

Practical Farmers of Iowa will host a field day on Friday, July 14 at Wills Family Orchard. The enterprises at Wills Family Orchard are diverse, yet with a common thread of agritourism. With five acres of certified organic apples, two acres of conventional-ish apples, one acre of organic peaches, a sorghum-sudan grass (instead of corn!) maze, pumpkins and more, this farm is a family affair that draws about 7,000 customers annually. Learn about the goals and lessons of managing this multifaceted operation and how the farm has grown and changed over time. Apple cider donuts and light refreshments will be served. Waukee Arts Festival

July 14-15 at at Centennial Park, Waukee.

See artist exhibits and listen to live music at the two-day Waukee Arts Festival. The festival opens at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 14 with artist vendors, food trucks, beer garden and live music. The festival reopens from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 16 with daytime music, art vendors, food trucks, beer garden, kids activities and evening concerts. Artist vendors will be open from 5-9 p.m. July 14 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 15.
