Gary Glitter has returned to custody following a breach of his licence conditions less than six weeks after being released from prison.

The paedophile singer, 78, was freed in February after being jailed in 2015 for sexually abusing three schoolgirls.

Glitter, whose real name is Paul Gadd, left HMP The Verne following eight years behind bars, having served half of a 16-year sentence.

His licence conditions on release included being closely monitored by the police and Probation Service and being fitted with a GPS tag.
