Main road for Manatee Ave. traffic reopens after gas leak in downtown Bradenton
UPDATE: All intersections are now open as of 4:52 p.m., police said.
Fire crews responding to a gas leak have shut down Manatee Avenue West in downtown Bradenton, police said Tuesday afternoon.
At 2:43 p.m., the Bradenton Police Department shared news of the road closure on Twitter.
Officers are helping reroute traffic around the gas leak in the 600 block of 15th St. W. at Manatee Avenue West.
The roads closed are:
15th St. W. 8th Ave. W.
14th St. W. 6th Ave. W.
Virginia Dr. Manatee Ave. W.
The department has no timeline for when crews will be able to repair the leak.
People should avoid the area, and drivers should expect a delay during their afternoon commute.
