These gas rewards programs and apps can help you save money at the pumps around KC

Gas prices are under the national average of $4.17 in Missouri and Kansas, but they’re still higher than what Kansas Cititans are used to. In Missouri, it’s $3.73 per gallon and in Kansas, it’s $3.74, which when compared to California’s $5.44, sounds like a deal.

If you’re looking for more gas deals, we put together a list of rewards programs that can help reduce fuel costs. Here’s a few that may help you out.

HY-VEE

Hy-Vee’s Fuel Saver is free for customers to sign up and benefit from the rewards. Fuel rewards vary per day.

Take a look at an example of Hy-Vee’s program below.

You can sign up here or download the Hy-Vee app for your mobile device.

PRICE CHOPPER AND QUIKTRIP

The Price Chopper Shopper rewards program offers discounts on fuel. For every $1 you spend, you earn one point on qualifying purchases, including gas. For every 100 points you earn, you can up to five cents per gallon for up to 20 gallons.

This offer is available at Price Chopper Fuel Station or QuikTrip. You can sign up at any Price Chopper store at the customer service desk.

SHELL

Fuel rewards members save $0.05 per gallon, the website said. You can sign up for their fuel rewards program here.

COSTCO

Costco stores already have discounted gasoline, but the Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi credit card has savings opportunities too. Earn 4% back on eligible gas for the first $7,000 spent per year, then 1% after. The card also offers other cashback rewards at Costco and for other spending needs. It’s a credit card, so it comes with the risk of any credit card and may not make sense as a cost saving measure for everyone. Click here to learn more.
